Dickens’s comic masterpiece follows Nicholas Nickleby, left penniless on the death of his father, as he escapes the influence of his villainous Uncle Ralph and the tyrannical schoolmaster Wackford Squeers and embarks on a journey through 1830s England. Along the way he encounters a variety of eccentric characters including the warm-hearted Crummles Theatre Company.
Ace Lawson kindly invited myself and a few other friends to watch the show. Ace is one of Freedom in the Air’s ambassador’s and is the assistant director in this production of Nicholas Nickleby. All of us who went were completely stunned by how brilliant the play was. Afterwards, i promised to take Ace flying. He would like to do his pilots licence one day, i hope after flying with me, he will start sooner then later.
the show is still on at the Gielgud Theatre, Shaftesbury Avenue, London.
