“Freedom in the Air allows people with disabilities to push back boundaries and experiences something that they could never have imagined. The freedom of flight has really transformed people’s thoughts and opinions and changed attitudes towards those with a disability”

Cranfield Flight Training, a registered flight training organisation (FTO 178), have great instructors who have experience in training both disabled and able bodied pilots. They have a Cessna 172 which is a great trainer, fitted with the Union Hand controller. Cranfield Flight Training can take you all the way to a Commercial pilot licence and Flight instructor level.
Terry Akeroyd runs TA Aviation, has been a strong supporter of disabled aviation for many years. He has a PA28 Cherokee fitted with the Vision Air hand controller and is a low wing aeroplane as opposed to the Cessna 172, which is a high wing aeroplane. Both aeroplanes are accessible. Terry is set up to teach the Private Pilots licence practical and the ground school. He is a gifted pilot and passionate about aviation and issues facing disabled people in aviation.
It is a privilege to be associated with Cranfield Flight Training and Terry Akeroyd. Harnessing our collective talents and energy towards working to promote disabled aviation makes us very proud.
