It has been over a month since i last flew any aeroplane. Then the weather was just starting to get wintry. Now it is windy, grey and not so bright. I met Mike (chief instructor) at Cranfield flight training to discuss their new website which i am building for them. By lunchtime Donald hat become free to fly with me. It felt great to be sitting on the left hand seat doing the pre flight checks. Once cleared for take off, we lined and full throttle. The wind was straight down runway 21 and blowing fairly strong. Terry Akeroyd came with us and we flew to Little Staunton to ferry a little Tomahawk back from her 50 hr check. Little Staunton is a funny little place. not the best runway either. Once we dropped Terry off, Donald and I took off again heading back to Cranfield. Over Bedford, i kept saying out loud how much i love flying planes and that i could stay up here for ever. my radio calls were fine and no mistakes. We joined the circuit at CRanfield from Stewartby brick works to do a touch and go’s. the first one was ok but i would have liked it better. the next few were fine, but my flaring is a bit too much. I try to have the tail trimmed back so that flaring is less difficult. I like doing flapless landings so we did 3 of them. Flying with Donald is great. there was no hesitation of me having him in the plane and it feels natural to fly with a good teacher. Flying with Paul is likewise as enjoyable as i learn a lot. Flying India Oscar and Juliette Victor feels like flying with old friends. As sCranfield aerodome
