FITA #YouHaveControl – The Board of the Light Aircraft Association announced in July 2013, that Philip Hall had been appointed as its new Chief Executive Officer. Philip took up the position in early September 2013, after the LAA Rally at Sywell Aerodrome. He gave an eye opening interview to FITA at the Swift Aircraft stand about the challenges and excitement that are ahead of him.

Philip joins the Association after a successful career in the technology and financial services industries; he has owned and operated several businesses and brings with him valuable commercial and managerial experience.

Philip commented, “Given my huge passion for all things aviation related, I am extremely excited at the prospect of working for such a well-respected organisation as the LAA. It would be naïve to ignore the significance of the challenges we face as an Association, however I feel positive that we will continue to protect the interests of our current and future members.”

Philip has been a keen pilot since his teenage years and has enjoyed many types of aviation including gliders, microlights and fixed wing aircraft. He currently owns and flies an LAA Permit Gardan Minicab and is rebuilding a Cassutt. Roger Hopkinson, Chairman of the Association, welcomed the news; “We are delighted to be able to welcome Philip to the LAA. He joins the Association at an important time in its development and growth and we look forward to supporting him and the team in the challenges ahead.”
