It has been a few days since i last wrote something to do with my pilot training here. Last Friday and Saturday were spent sitting in the back of the PA28 observing another student Steve David. He is a great pilot and i obesrved him doing circuits and bumps as he calls them around Balck Bush. You would be suprised as to how much work in involved during joining a circuit, and eventually lining up for a short finals to land.

You have to remember all the pre landings check, you have to give/ receive and acknowledge radio communications, you have to observe the laws governing circuit flying ( Rules and 17 and 35 of rules in the air) and you have to fly the plane and keep a constant look out for all the other traffic joinig and leaving the circuit. This is why i found observing a good lesson and a very positive experience. I think the next thing i will organise for myself, which by the way is not in the PPL syllabus is a visit to a Air Traffic control centre. a visit to air traffic control centre should be a part of PPL training, that is my personal feeling.

Yesterday and today, i have started my Air law and meteorology course. So far i have been deep in air law and memorising DOC 7300 outlining the articles which make up the uniform air law of the member states that are signed up to it. International civil aviaton organization was set up in Montreal in 1947 to promote aviation standards and develop and recommend aviation practices internationally..harmony in global aviation law really started to come into effect after the paris convention of 1919, after world war 1. This introduced principles of air law which was agreed and adopted mostly by europeans.  on 7th Dec 1944 however 52 states signed the chicago convention which presented the moral obligation of the 52 contracting states. It provided safe and efficient ground and flight organisations in each territory to develop internatinal aviation.

Now, this is the very very small introduction to aviation law but i would suggest that anyone interested in aviation download and this doc 7300 – The Chicago Convention which can be found here…
